Early I Will Seek You

My late husband delighted in welcoming a new day by sitting on the front porch steps of our home watching the sun crest over our neighbors house as he talked with God.

His conversation with God usually included the poem by Wallace Fridy.

“This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:24)

“O God, for another day, for another morning, for another hour, for another minute, for another chance to live and serve Thee, I am truly grateful.”

Do Thou this day free me

from all fear of the future,

from all anxiety about tomorrow,

from all bitterness towards any one,

from all cowardice in face of danger,

from all laziness the face of work,

from all failure before opportunity,

from all weakness when Thy power is at hand.

Always Something You Don't Know

In their much earlier years, my daughter and her husband stopped by our house on their way down to the car wash to run their car through and vacuum the inside. Our son in law offered to do the same for my husbands car. He gladly accepted the offer. "we will pick up yours after we do ours" he responded.

Later my husband rode with me to run errands. When we returned home, his unwashed car was as we had left it. "those kids," followed by a few descriptive words exposed his disappointment. He put his hand in his pocket and found the reason--the car keys were in his hand.

Before you assume and access any situation or seemingly behavior, remember there is always at least one factor you don't know.

"You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgement on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgement do the same things." Romans 2:1 niv

Welcome to Sonbeams!

Any sunshiny day when sunbeams dance around us I find my spirit lifted up. On any day touched by "Son" beams from God, which are always available for the seeking, you can find a way to enjoy Jesus. He delights to hear from you. Would you like his phone number? Jeremiah 33:3 is one of them. "Call on me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know. NIV". You will never receive a message saying, "We are not available right now/ No longer in service/ discontinued/ voicemail not set up" or no answer at all. In fact, God had Isaiah to tell us in Isaiah 1:18" Come now, lets settle this, says the Lord. Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them white as wool. NLT." Can you imagine the God who created you wants to talk to you? What an invitation. Say Thank You Father, get still, open your heart and read His Word in a quiet, meditative way and enjoy a Sonbeam even on a cloudy day, a rainy day... It will even work in a hurricane!
